Thanks to a brace by Aleksa Andrejic Balzan remained in eighth position with 17 points, six points ahead of Gzira, Valletta, and, Mosta.

This was their fifth win of the season for Balzan and their first since December 2 when they defeated Sirens.

After only 8th minutes, an insidious shot by Kevin Tumilieri almost deceived goalkeeper Danilo Golovic, hitting the crossbar and being cleared.

In the 15th minute, goalkeeper Dylan Ciappara made a good save over a powerful shot by Aleksandar Katanic and a minute later the same player saw his other attempt finishing wide.

Two minutes later, Goalkeeper Dylan Ciappara pushed away a direct free kick taken by Triston Caruana.

In the 22nd minute, Jake Grech stole a ball just outside the area but he shot wide.

In the 28th minute a shot from outside the box by Aleksa Andrejic was turned into a corner by the goalkeeper.

In the 41st minute, another attempt by Aleksa Andrejic was not held by the goalkeeper and the rebound fell to Awosanya whose shot was saved by goalkeeper Dylan Ciappara.

Following a goalless first half, Balzan took the lead in the first minute of the second half when following two consecutive shots by Aleksandar Katanic with the ball finally finishing to ALEKSA ANDREJIC who manged to beat the goalkeeper with overhead scissor kick.

After this goal the game lost the momentum of the first half with Balzan holding most of the possession.

In the 70th minute, there was a small pause as the assistant referee was injured and the fourth official took his place.

Five minutes from time, Balzan sealed the issue with a second goal when Aleksandar Katanic served ALEKSA ANDREJIC who managed to beat goalkeeper Dylan Ciappara with a shot from the edge of the area.
