Joseph Agius, born in Paola, became a member of Balzan FC in 1977, and in 1980 he was elected as a committee member.
That same year, he was appointed as Club Secretary and kept that post for over 43 years until 1st November 2023.
It was his late father-in-law, Peter Fitzgerald, the then Balzan Youths FC treasurer, who had invited him for a drink at the Balzan Youths FC club, and there he had met and became friends with the locals.
The Balzan FC supporters had encouraged him to join the club and during an Annual General Meeting, they proposed him for election as a committee member. He had accepted and from that period on he never looked back.
Joe will still continue to serve the club as a committee member and share his years of experience with new Secretariat.
