With just four minutes to go, Balzan were comfortably leading by two goals to nil but Birkirkara pulled one back on 86 minutes and scoring another two goals in added time to take home three precious.

This result puts Birkirkara three points ahead of Valletta and Gzira, despite having a game in hand, and one point behind Hamrun. Balzan continues to share seventh place with Sirens, but however with a game in hand.

For this game, Balzan made use of newly registered Alvin Kevin Daniels as a substitute while Birkirkara included newly registered goalkeeper Luca Savelloni with their first eleven and made use of newly registered Ngissah Bismark as a substitute.

As from the beginning, Balzan took the initiative and have a couple of attempts to goal.

In the 31st minute, Balzan took the lead. Bojan Kaljevic intercepted a back pass by Kurt Zammit to his goalkeeper and goalkeeper Luca Savelloni floored Bojan Kaljevic inside the area, with the referee awarding Balzan a penalty. From the penalty spot, ALEKSA ANDREJIC did not fail to convert.

Balzan continued to administer the game and in the 43rd minute, Aleksa Andrejic served UROS LJUBOMIRAC on the right and the latter rounded a defender before hitting low past goalkeeper Luca Savelloni.

In the second half, Balzan kept in control of the game defending the result however in the last 20 minutes Birkirkara reacted and put everything in front.

In the 87th minute, Birkirkara pulled one back. Off a freekick from the right taken by Leandro Aguirre, LUKE MONTEBELLO headed the ball home.

Two minutes into the added time, Birkirkara equalised when Ngissah Bismark headed the ball in the direction of substitute JED VALLETTA whose fine volley gave goalkeeper Jake Galea no chance.

But it was not over yet as in added time just before the final whistle, DIEGO SILVA VENANCIO stunned the Balzan goalkeeper with a powerful drive from the left to make it 3-2 for the Birkirkara.
