Balzan came from behind to reach FA Trophy last eight. Balzan fought back from a goal down to hit six past Gozitan side Xewkija Tigers and book their place into the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy.

In the 16^th minute, Xewkija Tigers surprised Balzan as they took the lead thanks to a great inswinger from a direct free-kick, taken from the left edge of the box, by DANIJEL BOGDANOVIC which gave goalkeeper Sean Mintoff no chance.

Balzan looked nervous and Xewkija almost doubled their lead in the 20^th minute when Darko Stojanovic connected a corner taken by Shaun Bajada but headed over.

On the half-hour, Balzan equalised when off an assist from the right by Andrija Majdevac, RICARDO CALIXTO CORREA DUARTE managed to beat goalkeeper Mark Grima with a low shot.

In the 34^th minute, Balzan took the lead when a corner from the left by Ricardo Correa created havoc inside the area with ALEKSANDAR KOSORIC taking the advantage, placing home from close range.

In the 39^th minute, Balzan made it 3 – 1 when Milos Lepovic released Alfred Effiong on the right and the latter served the unmarked ANDRIJA MAJDEVAC who slotted the ball past Mark Grima.

In the 52^nd minute, Darko Kristic shot flashed just wide.

A minute later, Danijel Bogdanovic forced his way into the box but was denied by Balzan goalkeeper Sean Cini.

At the other end, Alfred Effiong incredibly fired over in front of a gaping goal.

In the 58^th minute, RICARDO CORREA increased the score for Balzan when he received an assist by Andrija Majdevac finishing the ball inside the empty net.

Balzan insisted and managed to score another two goals.

In the 67^th minute, Ricardo Correa dribbled his way from the left setting STEVEN PISANI who elegantly made it 5 – 1 by beating Grima with a rising shot.

In the 74^th minute, RICARDO CORREA sealed the issue at 6 – 1 completing his hat trick. He received a through pass and after controlling the ball he lobbed it over the goalkeeper, as he rushed out of his area in an attempt to clear the ball, which finished into an empty net.
