As part of the pre-season training and in preparation for the UEFA Europa League QR1 match against Kesla FK of Baku Azerbaijan, on Wednesday 20th June 2018 the Balzan FC first team squad went for a training camp in Slovejn Gradec in Slovenja.
During this camp Balzan FC played two friendly games against two top European clubs.
On Friday 22nd June they went to Rijeka in Croatia and played against one of the best teams of Croatia HNK Rijeka and lost 0 – 1.

On 26th July they played in Sloven Gradec against FK Vardar Skopje of Macedonia and won with a convincing score of 4 – 2.
The Balzan FC squad returned back to Malta on Wednesday 27th July 2018.
