Balzan registered their second win in the BOV Premier League as they registered a comfortable win of 5-0 win over Senglea A.

Balzan made some changes from the match against Qormi. Sean Mintoff played in goal instead of Steve Sultana, while Justin Grioli and Alex Da Paixao Alves (Lecao) replaced Nenad Slijvic and Alfred Effiong . Ricardo Calixto Correa Duarte was missing once again serving his second of a three-match ban.

On the other hand Senglea had no less than six changes from the team which lost to Mosta. Matthew Farrugia, Daniel Buckle, Manuel Guillari, Zachary Cassar and Andre White were named in the starting line-up after starting the last game on the bench while Roman Tchanturia was handed his debut. Noureddine Lachrah was unavailable as he was serving a match suspension.

Balzan made their intentions clear from the start and should have opened the score after five minutes. Andrija Majdevac squared the ball for the unmarked Milos Lepovic who finished over from close range.

On the 11th minute, Senglea were unlucky not to open the score when from a direct free-kick from the left Ferdinando Salvati hit the crossbar.

Balzan, however, took the lead on the 25th minute when they won a penalty after Alfred Effiong was floored inside the area by Manuel Guillari and from the penalty spot, ANDRIJA MAJDEVAC made no mistake.

Balzan remained on the offensive and doubled their advantage on the 43rd  minute. Ivan Bozovic sent a low cross towards MILOS LEPOVIC whose powerful strike gave Matthew Farrugia no chance.

One minute from half-time. Balzan created another chance, Lecao set Alfred Effiong Maltese through on the right side and the latter hit a diagonal shot that sailed wide.

In the second half Balzan continued where they left and on the 46th minute they had a good chance to score again. Andrija Majdevac was played through on goal before going round Farrugia before hitting a shot on goal, but his effort was blocked on the line by Andre` White.

However ANDRIJA MAJDEVAC managed to score his second goal of the night when he dribbled past his markers to convert, a Ivan Bozovic’s cross, from close-range.

Three minutes later, Balzan increased the score thanks to DALE CAMILLERI who received an assist by Andrija Majdevac on the right, before slotting past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

Senglea’s defence could not cope with Balzan’s forwards.  On the 80th minute, substitute Sean Cipriott send a long ball towards Leacao who failed to hit the target from inside the penalty area.

Three minutes from time Lecao was floored by Tcanturia and from the penalty spot the same Lecao made no mistake.

Three minutes from time, Lecao was brought down inside the area by Roman Tchanturia and Balzan were awarded a penalty. fFom the spot ALEX DA PAIXAO ALVES (Lecao) converted the penalty bringing the final score to 5-0.
