Balzan could not have a better start as in the 3rd minute they managed to forge ahead. Uros Ljubomirac exchanged the ball with Stefan Dimic who dribbled past two defenders and delivered a low cross back into the path of UROS LJOBOMIRAC who finished the ball inside the net.

In the 14th minute Mosta tried to react when Weverton Gomes went near but his low drive finished just out.

In the 22nd minute, Balzan went near to increasing their lead when Andrija Majdevac, from just inside the area, passed the ball back towards Ricardo Correa who in turn shot the ball just over the bar.

Balzan doubled their lead in the 24th minute when Mosta goalkeeper Andreas Vella brought down Andrija Majdevac in the area with the referee awarding a penalty to Balzan. Andrija Majdevac took the penalty shot but he saw his effort hitting the upright. However, the ball fell for AUGUSTINE LOOF who headed the ball into an empty net.

Balzan remained in control of the game and in the 41st minute they increased the score. Ricardo Correa served ANDRIJA MAJDEVAC who finished the ball into the corner of the net with a low shot.

In the added time of the first half, Mosta went near when a direct free-kick taken by Matias Muchardi was tipped over into a corner with some difficulty by goalkeeper Kristijan Naumovski.

The first minutes of the second half proved to be feeble with very few actions to report.

In the 64th minute, Mosta threatened when a cross by Dexter Xuereb from the right side found unmarked Zachary Brincat, only for his header to be completely miscued.

In the 73rd minute Dexter Xuereb tried his luck from a long distance but his effort just missed the target.

However in the 79th minute Balzan scored their fourth goal. Tyrone Farrugia brought down Uros Ljubomirac in the area and from the penalty spot ANDRIJA MAJDEVAC this time kept his composure and converted.

Balzan sealed the issue in the 85th minute when Ryan Scicluna passed the ball towards RICARDO CALIXTO CORREA DUARTE who finished the ball past goalkeeper Andreas Vella.
