Balzan FC announced that Oliver Spiteri has decided to step down as Head Coach of Balzan F.C. by mutual consent.

In a statement, President Anton Tagliaferro said “Everyone at Balzan FC would like to thank Oliver for all the work he put in over the last 3 years. In his years at Balzan, Oliver was helped Balzan finish in the top 4 in Malta for 3 years in a row,which enabled the club to play in the Europa League which had never happened before in the club’s history. Other historic milestones achieved in the last 3 years included our first FA Trophy Final in May 2016 as well as our first win in Europe with a memorable win in Baku last July. On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to wish Oliver all the best for the future.”

On the other hand, Oliver Spiteri said “I would like to thank the President Mr. Anton Tagliaferro and his committee for the trust shown in me and everyone at Balzan FC for the last 3 years where we enjoyed many great moments together. I would like to thank the many people there who I worked with over the last 3 years, especially Mr. Peter Cipriott, my technical staff and last but not least all the players that were part of the team during these last three years. I hope the club continues to enjoy all the success it deserves in the future.”
